Doctors Under Pressure: Supporting the Profession in Scotland

Professor Dame Parveen Kumar, Professor of Medicine & Education at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, will be exploring why “Medicine succeeds at doctors’ expense”.
Dr Mike Farquhar, consultant in sleep medicine at Evelina London Childrens Hospital, will tell us “Why we need to talk about fatigue”.
Dr Chris Turner, consultant from University Hospitals of Coventry & Warwickshire, will explain why “Respect is due: civility saves lives”.
There will also be two parallel sessions of workshops at the conference with a wide range of subjects, including an update on the current pensions situation, how climate change is a critical healthcare issue, and how to make your job plan work for you, among many others. BMA Scotland Chair Dr Lewis Morrison will give a roundup of the day’s proceedings at the end of the conference.
Open to members & non-members:
BMA members pay a refundable deposit to attend (but it’s free of charge to student and foundation doctor members).
Non-members are welcome to attend, but will pay a nonrefundable fee. Find out more at our webpage.
