Family practice with family values. Dynamic and innovative with a host of learning opportunities. Our trainees are always supported, encouraged and made to feel part of our team.

With 5,500 patients, set in the coastal town of Irvine, Eglinton Family Practice is a supportive and dynamic place to train. Our trainees become part of our friendly, close knit team where training and learning opportunities abound. There are 3 trainers with different clinical interests and a broad range of experience to bring to trainees from Gynaecology and Family Planning to Addiction and Forensics with every step in between. This practice will equip you not only to pass CSA and AKT but to become the GP you were meant to be with a toolbox brimming full of skills and experience. The practice and its patients are well established. We are very focused on training and it informs the centrepiece of who we are as a team. From our nurses to our admin, everyone has an input, everyone is used to encouraging and helping our trainees to be all they can be. We are at the vanguard of primary care models in Scotland and offer several unique clinical settings, from the community hub with its emphasis on social care in its broadest sense, to the Travelling community outreach clinic to our dementia unit. This practice is the place to be, the place to learn and the first step in the exciting and ever changing career of general practice.
