GP Partner Vacancy

Closing Date: 31 July 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time GP partner to join our progressive and friendly practice due to a retirement. Partnership will be flexible. 4 sessions approximately/negotiable. Start date around September 2024 however this is also negotiable.

We feel we have some great selling points for any prospective GP:

  • We have no duty doctor system; the workload is split equally each day between clinicians
  • We have regular partners meetings and also join together with our neighbouring GP practice for PBSGL meetings
  • We have developed very good working relationships with our allied health professionals including excellent district nursing team and health visitors
  • As GPs, we feel we all achieve an excellent work-life balance which is great for family life. We are a close-knit group and catch up with each other regularly throughout the working day

We are a very well organised practice based within purpose-built health board rented premises, therefore with no building capital requirement. The practice is one of two in the Maybole area and serves a mixed rural and urban population, with a current list size of 4,200. The practice uses EMIS and DOCMAN. Out of Hours services are covered by NHS 24.

The team consists of 4 GP partners (1 soon to be retired), 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurse, and is supported by attached multidisciplinary staff including, CTAC, pharmacy team, physiotherapist, community link practitioners and MHPs. The practice boasts a high level of staff retention.

Maybole is situated 10 minutes south of Ayr in South Ayrshire, with excellent transport links and within commuting distance from Glasgow. You will also find that property prices are more affordable than in other parts of the UK, should you wish to relocate. Local education standards are very high at primary and secondary level, and private education is also available in the area.

If you feel we might be a good fit for you, please contact any of us below by email. We would love to meet you informally in the practice for tea and cake and we can tell you more!
