GP Partner Vacancy – 5 to 8 Sessions

Closing Date Tuesday 31 August 2021

Townhead Surgery Irvine is seeking a 5-8 session partner to enhance our existing clinical team. We are a large 8 partner practice based within Health Board owned premises and are an excellently run functional practice with levels of remuneration that reflect this. We have already complimented our team with a salaried GP, ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Health Care Assistants and a phlebotomy service. We work closely with our Health Board-employed pharmacy team, Mental Health Practitioner, Community Link Worker and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner. We are well supported by an experienced administrative team. Routine GP appointments are now 15 minutes, and we also offer telephone/video consultations as individuals. We have made changes to maximise efficiency and minimise clinician workload, and adapted our procedures rapidly to the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Our appointments system runs primarily through a Clinical Advice Column whereby patients are called back on the same day by a clinician, and appointed/advised/signposted as appropriate. We run in a very democratic manner, with a structure to encourage involvement from all partners, and also run clinical meetings for all clinicians which helps with appraisal. We strive to support one another as a team, and there is dedicated time for coffee every morning and afternoon in our common room. We are a GP Training Practice and also teach medical students, with a history of very good feedback. There would be opportunity for the incoming candidate to have involvement if interested. We are happy to consider candidates who wish to work as a partner or if preferred initially as a salaried GP or long-term locum. We consider 8 sessions to be full-time, and are open to discussion for between 5-8 sessions, negotiable for the right candidate. We offer a full range of enhanced services and as a large group practice there is opportunity for individuals to have areas of special interest with internal referrals. Partner position currently eligible for Golden Hello however, this is at the discretion of the Health Board. Informal chat/visit /applications to: http://Julie.Spence@.aapct.scot.nhs.uk or telephone 01294 315190.
