GP partner 6 sessions – (Mondays,Tuesdays and Thursdays)

We are looking to recruit a new partner to allow us to increase capacity and improve our work/life balance. We are a relatively young team of experienced GPs with a desire to improve and innovate healthcare within the town. Although some of us travel easily from out with Ayrshire, several of us are raising young families in the area and all believe Ayrshire provides an excellent environment for the pursuit of a manageable work-life balance. Ayrshire has extensive services and facilities geared towards family life with the added benefit of also being a short commute to sample city life. There are few places in Scotland that can compete with the stunning West Coast scenery (we may be slightly biased!) and the ease of access to our main cities and Islands alike.
We are a large, friendly training practice strongly committed to providing a high standard of Primary Care Services for our 12,800 patients residing in our town of Kilwinning in North Ayrshire. Kilwinning is a 30-40 minute drive from the West-End and South side of Glasgow and benefits from being an inter-change station providing excellent transport links every 15 minutes to and from the city and the west coast.
We have a dynamic and supportive team consisting of 8 GP partners, 2 fully trained ANPs, 3 Practice Nurses and a practice employed Pharmacist. As part of the implementation of the new GMS contract, we have full-time Pharmacy and Mental Health Practitioner support along with part-time Physiotherapy and Community Link worker support. We are dedicated to providing the highest standards of training from FY2-ST3 level and have been highly commended for this. We have, and will continue to support the development of GPs with a specialist interest within the practice. One of our current GP partners works alongside the Respiratory Physicians at University Hospital Crosshouse. Another GP is our area representative on the Ayrshire LMC keeping us abreast of latest developments. We have been extensively involved in the successful establishment and development of our Kilwinning Locality Forum within the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Kilwinning Medical Practice is a long established, happy and supportive place to work. We can offer new team members a stable environment to establish new or develop existing GP careers. We recognise the valuable role of all staff, clinical and non-clinical, in delivering high quality patient care. Our low staff turnover highlights the benefits of this ethos with many of our administrative team having been with us since leaving school. For several, this amounts to over 30 years of service at KMP!
We recognise working in modern day general practice is challenging due to increasing workload and demand. Our ability to adapt swiftly is the result of excellent working relationships in the team. We arrange social events regularly which in the past have involved car treasure hunts, barbecues, bowling and even dancing lessons at Christmas parties!
Joining Kilwinning Medical Practice is your opportunity to enjoy the best of general practice and the best of Ayrshire.
Any interested candidates are welcome to contact us for more details or to visit informally.
