I am a newly qualified GP who has just taken up a Partnership role within Kilwinning Medical Practice. My background is in Community Pharmacy where I worked as a Pharmacist full time until making the switch to Medical School.
I studied at Glasgow University and trained in GG+C Inverclyde and Paisley before my GP Specialty training in Forth Valley. I had a great experience during training, working with some inspirational and devoted people. It is one of my goals to become a trainer in the future and to inspire a new generation of doctors to embark on this rewarding career path.
I was attracted to Ayrshire and Arran because I had received positive feedback from my colleagues who had trained in the health board. I also regularly visit the area to walk the dogs along the beautiful beaches and there are some great restaurants. I have been here for a few months since completing GP training in early August and I have been welcomed by all the team and patients alike.
I am privileged to be working alongside such passionate and committed professionals. The practice is bustling with an array experienced HCAs, ANPs and Pharmacists. We are also fortunate to have a great complement of reception and secretarial staff and the whole operation is creatively managed by our wonderful and faithful Practice Manager. The team’s enthusiasm to be a progressive practice moving forward has been my motivation to contribute as effectively as I can to this practice, its staff and local population.
I am a husband and father and greatly cherish my family time. I enjoy baking in my spare time and regularly subject my poor colleagues and family to my efforts in the kitchen. This practice shares my aspirations for general practice and the future of primary care and I am anticipating an exciting journey forward alongside them in the years to come.
