Townhead Surgery, Irvine are seeking a 4-8 session experienced primary care Advanced Nurse Practitioner to complement our existing team. The number of sessions and days are flexible for the right candidate.  We are a 10 partner training practice with approximately 12 000 patients, and operate from health-board owned premises centrally located within Ayrshire; an easy 30 minute commute from the Southside of Glasgow.

We have a dynamic and forward-thinking team; complimented by two salaried GPs, experienced senior ANP, practice nurse, two general practice pharmacists and an experienced and versatile healthcare assistant team. We work closely with our health board-employed pharmacy team, advanced physiotherapy practitioner, CTAC nurses, mental health practitioner, community link worker and income advisor. We are well supported by a dedicated and enthusiastic administrative and practice management team.

We have many years of experience of ANPs integrated within our clinical team. We offer a comprehensive and highly structured induction programme. Our highly valued ANPs work directly alongside our GPs through an on the day triage first system, but as a large practice there is also opportunity to have additional areas of specialist interest and professional development. Regular long-term structured support with a named GP mentor is provided to facilitate continuous ongoing individualised advancement.

Our focus is teamwork and to be supportive of one another! We strive to be inclusive and open, and encourage input from all our team members. We run regular Clinical Meetings for all clinicians which helps with CPD. We are an established GP Training Practice with 3 trainers and an excellent record of success. Townhead Surgery is also regularly involved with the tutoring of University of Glasgow medical students, with very positive feedback.

The preferred candidate should be able to deliver safe, effective, high quality, person centred care. They should possess excellent communication skills and equipped to utilise their own initiative, clinical judgement and decision making. Experience in telephone triage, telephone consultation and advice calls in addition to face to face consultations is essential. Appropriate qualifications are desired including V300. Salary starting point is competitive and negotiable depending on level of qualification and prior experience.
