Easy access to parks and open spaces, rivers and exploration of historic castle ruins on your doorstep, there is so much to discover here. Ayrshire also boasts a 148km Ayrshire Coastal Path stretching from the southern Glenapp to the northernmost limits of Ayrshire. If you love the sea and sailing is your hobby then there are several choices of professional sailing clubs in Ayrshire as well as Scotland’s finest Marina in Largs that host many national and international events and races and promotes the sport of sailing.

There are close to 50 Golf courses in Ayrshire & Arran including beautiful links courses and classic inland layouts each boasting its own unique history, challenges and stunning Scottish scenery. Famous worldwide, provide a warm Ayrshire & Arran welcome in their friendly family clubhouses where you can relax and sample some of their finest local produce.
Other Sports and Leisure
Our three local authorities have exceptionally strong strategies for enabling Ayrshire and Arran residents to participate fully in sports and leisure activities of their choice, and indeed the choice is overwhelming for both outdoor and indoor pursuits – too many to list here but you can even join a cricket club! With multiple venues right across the area offering sessions and club arrangements, the facilities will not just more than satisfy the active GP, but will also cater for your families and friends of all ages. Each local authority is also highly mindful of the need to cater wherever possible for those less able to take part in conventional forms of sports, and their own and specific organisation sites are brimming with ways to get involved.
