I first joined Kilwinning Medical Practice as a newly qualified GP in August 2017. I have a background in Community Pharmacy before studying Medicine at the University of Glasgow and completed my post graduate medical training between Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Forth Valley Health Boards.
It is now nearly 5 years I have been working here and I am still enjoying the challenge. I work daily with exceptionally motivated and experienced individuals, despite the recent challenges of the pandemic. We have been able to adapt in order to meet increasing demand whilst still providing high quality service to our patients. I have had the pleasure of becoming a FY2 trainer and this has progressed onto completing SPESC training to become a GPST Trainer. I think it is fundamental to the continuing growth of Primary Care we attract enthusiastic talent from the pool of post graduate trainees to General Practice.
Multi-Disciplinary Team working is growing in strength. In addition to our greatly knowledgeable Nursing and Advanced Nurse Practitioners, our allocation of Pharmacists and Technicians for the Pharmacotherapy Service, Mental Health Practitioner, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Community Link Worker, working in the building is making communication about patients much easier. We are also fortunate to have a great complement of reception and secretarial staff and the whole operation is creatively managed by our wonderful and faithful Practice Manager.
I am a father and husband and greatly cherish my family time. I enjoy baking, reading, films and spending time with family and friends.
I am hopeful the NHS can grow out of the pandemic and continue to provide the excellent care we take pride in delivering every day.
