An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Practitioner to join our dedicated friendly team. We are a close-knit, friendly practice, located 45 minutes drive from Glasgow and 10 minutes from Largs and Greenock, with good transport links to surrounding areas. and a local railway station. There is an abundance of recreational and leisure activities locally, including golf, parks, running, walking routes, fishing and sailing, to name but a few, and we are close to Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.

We cover 3 picturesque villages: Skelmorlie, Wemyss Bay and Inverkip, and have a small practice size of only 4,100 patients. The practice consists of a single GP Partner, 3 part-time Salaried GPs, a Practice Manager, 2 Practice Nurses, and 6 Reception Staff currently.

We are part of Ayrshire and Arran health board, and are redesigning our team to fit in with the challenges and opportunities of the new GP Contract. We are part of the North Coast GP Cluster that comprises of Arran, Millport, Largs, and Skelmorlie/Wemyss Bay and are supported by our friendly District Nursing Team, and we all work towards the same goal of delivering the best patient healthcare.

We encourage our staff to develop and nurture any interests they have in relevant clinical specialities. One of our GPs is a GPWI with their special interest in Psychiatry, and another GP has a specialist interest in Diabetes.

Pre Pandemic, our daily schedule was to start at 9am, seeing about 9 patients in the morning and 9 in the afternoon. We have a very low volume of house calls divided between the GPs working that day.

We strive to make our workplace a nice place for professionals to work together, where we regularly assess what we do as a team, and have time to meet for coffee and lunch after morning surgery. We believe in a healthy work life balance and try to provide that for all our staff. We are an exciting and innovative practice, who are always keen to hear fresh ideas and new suggestions for working better and smarter. Everyone at this practice is an active and valued member of the team. We also highly value and strive for continuity of care, to give the best service to our patients.
